Гостиница Москва / Hotel Moscow has an interesting story. See the video below!

Originally a constructivist design, it was reworked by Shchusev to better satisfy the changing taste in architecture in favor of a more classical, imperial style, what later became known as Stalinist Classicism. Hotel Moscow history & photos here.

Great to hear that reconstruction work is finally going to start on
RUSAKOV WORKERS’ CLUB! (let’s hope it’s done right)

Hard to pick a favorite, but Rusakov Workers’ Club is quite photogenic
& has definitely shown up in my work several times:

^handmade contact cards: silver gelatin print + silkscreen type overlay

^1st poster: learning the silkscreen printing process (hand drawn stencils)

^2nd poster: hybrid process – digital stencils based on photograph
which is then printed via silkscreen process (photographic silkscreen)

^Rusakov Workers’ Club poster first completed of final 18: 27×35 inches

^variable edition prints made in fun colors

^& of course, Rusakov Workers’ Club is always good for an Instagram

Levashovskiy Bread Factory

C o n g r a t u l a t i o n s to Levashovskiy Bread Factory! It was recently recognized as an ARCHITECTURAL MONUMENT: Российская Газета / Аргументы и Факти

Built in 1930-1933 in St. Petersburg, it is similar in appearance and function to bread factories in Moscow that were also designed by G. Marsakov. Currently it is occupied by the “Darnitsa” company, making a trip to this architectural monument a yummy one!

10-year anniversary of the (Revolutionary) October, school

Школа имени 10-летия Октября or in other words, school named after the 10-year anniversary of the (Revolutionary) October, by architects A. Nikolskiy & A. Krestin, 1927, in St. Petersburg. The design is inspired by the familiar shape of a hammer & sickle.
