I LOVE MOSCOW

A while back a campaign was launched across Moscow with “Я ЛЮБЛЮ МОСКВУ” (I LOVE MOSCOW) posters throughout the streets and in the metro of the capital. In a multi-colored silk screen layer effect, the posters featured recognizable architecture such as the Bolshoi Theater, St. Basil’s Cathedral, and a Stalin skyscraper – in short, the usual architectural icons associated with Moscow.

However, considering the diversity of the capital’s architectural styles, I thought it fitting to improve upon the I LOVE MOSCOW poster by adding some additional layers (silk screen pun intended) of AVANT-GARDE icons very much deserving to be included as architectural icons of Moscow:

Я люблю Москву / I love Moscow - intervention
And here is what it looked like before:
Я люблю Москву / I love Moscow - intervention

[Note: I did appreciate that Ladovsky’s Krasnye Vorota metro station ground pavilion (1934-5) was included, but the Melnikov House and Shukhov Tower are more iconic, IMHO]
