When photographing architecture for my project in fall of 2011, I had wanted to photograph the Dynamo stadium to feature on one of my posters. Unfortunately, it was already covered up with ads by VTB bank advertising its reconstruction…
It seems reconstruction now means DEMOLITION.

So like many other moscow projects ‘reconstruction’ means demolition to make room for parking and shopping, then build a copy of the facade, something like the original (or not), with all new interior – and in this case, new stuff bulging out over the ‘original’ wall. Not sure if better to just demolish whole thing ! Wonder if reconstruction will be as it was in 1928 (quite open, more ‘structural’) or the later enclosed version ? Just seen drawing, answer is no.
