Natalia Melikova was born in the Soviet Union but was raised in the USA. As an undergrad college student, she rediscovered her native city of Moscow and discovered her passion for photography. In graduate school, Natalia came across the work of Alexander Rodchenko, and became increasing involved in the history and art of his time. Her MFA thesis work consisted of researching and photographing constructivist architecture in Moscow and creating silk screened posters that reflect and remind of the Russian avant-garde.
